Animation Project – Storyboard + Feedback

Few days ago I finished my first storyboard draft. Before finishing it I looked up some interesting camera angles so I could had some to my animation. At this stage it is really hard to know if I will follow the storyboard exactly as it is now. Personally I like where this project is going but there is still a lot of work.

Here’s my Storyboard ! Let me know what you think!

Meanwhile I asked some feedback from my teacher on it and he made some statements:

  • Not sure if it touched him personally enough or too much
  • We can’t see much detail on the close ups on the heads and that’s something I should work on
  • The ending (looping) is fine for him but some people might not understand…
  • Since we are still far from finishing the animation, there is no need to focus directly on that now.
  • No background would be an interesting approach.

Conclusion:

In order to understand more how the animation would look like I have to make 1 or 2 head animation trials for next week.

The main character is a girl and I’ll have to animate her hair so I’ll take this trials to also practice animating that.

Some might not understand my storyboard so I’ll let you know 2 important things:

  1. The hat represents the typical zombie citizen, closed in his own box, not being able to see anything around. Materialism, Capitalism.
  2. The notebook represents whatever the society might be loosing…

A great friend of mine, Constança, helped me realize this and I guess it’s a major help to understand the story!

Let me know what you think!
